Introduction

For students who aim to achieve a Band Score of 6.5 or higher in the IELTS Academic.
Specifically, this programme is for you if:
you intend to study for a postgraduate degree that requires an IELTS band score of more than 6.0;
you intend to study overseas at a university that require an IELTS entrance band score of at least 6.5;
you need an IELTS ban score higher than a current band score of 6.0.

This course will give you lots of speaking time to improve accuracy, fluency, vocabulary and will familiarise you with all stages of the IELTS speaking test and the most common topics.
The course will provide strategies for dealing with the different stages of the IELTS Speaking:
• Introductory section
• Part 1 - Introduction and interview
• Part 2 - Long turn
• Part 3 - Discussion

The course will explain the Assessment Criteria for the Speaking paper:
Fluency and Coherence;
Lexical Resource;
Grammatical Range and Accuracy;
Pronunciation;
and how understanding these can help improve your score.
To achieve a Band Score of 6.5 or higher you will need to use a high level of vocabulary. You will expand your vocabulary range in the topics that often come up in the speaking paper:

• Eating and Food
• Travel and Tourism
• Sport

What will students need to know or do before starting this course?

  • Read as much and as often as you can in English. You do not need to read long novels or read Shakespeare!
  • Read what interests you. Read magazines or read stories on the internet.
  • Read what you like but read something every day if possible.Keep a vocabulary notebook – I will advise you about this.

  • Lesson 5: The two-way discussion phase of an IELTS speaking test. Topic: Environment

  • Lesson 6: Strategies on speaking confidently and fluently. Topic: Family

  • Lesson 7: Participating in a discussion. Topic: Culture and Tradition

  • Lesson 8: Pacing/pausing and chunking. Topic: Eating and Food

  • Lesson 9: Formal and informal register. Topic: Travel and Tourism

  • Lesson 10: Dos and don’ts, listening and responding appropriately. Topic: Sport

How to start?

  • After buying courses, you can arrange the them according to the teacher’s schedule.
  • If the teacher is able to do “Instant Tutoring”, you can make an appointment with the teacher at the upcoming time.
  • If the teacher is not online, the fastest possible course is 24 hours later.

Purchasing notice:

  • The duration of a trial session is about 30 minutes.
  • The duration of a private session is about 60 minutes.

Instructions:

  • Enter the website 10 minutes before the class starts. Click “Calendar” on the function bar, find the class, click “Go to class”, and then you will be in the classroom on ZOOM!
  • If you haven’t downloaded ZOOM, the system will direct you to download it when you first click “Go to class”.
  • You can use ZOOM for classes both on your phone and computer. (Please download ZOOM in advance if you choose using phone for the class. )
  • In order to have a successful class experience, we suggest you use a microphone or headphones/microphone combination, and ensure that your network is stable prior to the class. You may also use a high-definition video camera (optional).
